When we get the Word of God firmly rooted in our hearts and minds, we can use it against the devil and his cohorts. When Jesus was tempted by the devil to turn the stones into bread, Jesus answered with the Word.
He said, “...It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”.
Precious child of God, Jesus did not use a single weapon to defeat the devil on this occasion that we do not have available to us today. But in order for us to be able to say, “It is written...” in response to the enemy’s lies and temptations and to resist him and his cohorts effectively, we have to be armed with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.
In other words, we have to hide God’s Word in our hearts by meditating on it continually in order for it to work for us. Then we will be able to withstand the attacks of the enemy and his cohorts.
Confession - I will NOT live by bread alone but shall live from now on by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God my Father.
