To conclude our discussion on Key No 2 - serving God in truth and sincerity, let us look at service as it relates to unity and diversity in the body of believers aka the local church.
Every time we wake up, each member of our physical body kicks into service mode. Therefore, the scripture often uses the human body to describe, analogically, various levels of service and function that exist in the body of Christ, locally. This analogy also describes the inter-relationship and inter-dependency of each part on the other. Every member is vitally important because growth of the body is determined by how much each member plays his or her part. Here is what the scripture says, "from whom (Christ) the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love."
Precious child of God, wherever Father God has placed you in the local body of believers, please ensure you are doing your share - whatever this may be. It could be helping in the administrative tasks (helping to give guidance and assistance behind the scenes) or in the ministry of helps. Helps describes all forms of loving service and support, a manifestation of the Spirit often overlooked. Remember you matter and refuse to be discouraged or displaced by the erroneous thought of 'I don't belong'. This is often the enemy's strategy to marginalise you and render you ineffective for God. Bring every thought, idea and suggestion under the scrutiny and obedience of Christ.
CONFESSION - I refuse to be displaced from where Father God has placed me in the local body of believers and shall serve others to the best of my God-given ability, so help me oh God.
