This week, we shall continue our discussion on the subject of serving God in sincerity (free from pretence or deceit; genuine, honest) and true.
Precious child of the most High, we were created for a reason. The Psalmist puts it thus, "I am fearfully and wonderfully (purposefully, incredulously) made.." and the Apostle Paul puts it in the strongest of terms thus, "... we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]."
True greatness is measured in terms of service, and Jesus Himself provided the highest standard of service in His atoning death. This is how Jesus described true greatness: "25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
CONFESSION - Just as Christ did not come to be served but to give His life so must I. Therefore I commit myself to serving the LORD unreservedly, without grumbling or complaining for I have been created unto good works.
