Lesson for the Word of Faith Centre Sunday School class (Primary Class) - In this video we shall be learning more about Joseph.…
We start with a sword spin to find:
Genesis 39:2 – this is a memory verse to learn as homework
Reading taken from Genesis: 39:2-6 (New King James Bible)
One day Jacob asked Joseph to go and check on his brothers. At first, he couldn’t find them, so he asked someone for directions. His brothers could see him coming from afar off. They were still angry with him because their father had given him that special coat with many colours. So, they planned to do something to hurt him. They were going to hurt him very badly, but Rueben, their oldest brother, said no we can’t do that! He’s our brother. Here’s a pit, it used to have water in it, but its empty now. Let’s put him in the pit instead.
So, Rueben was trying to settle an argument before it even started. And he was planning to go back later that day to get Joseph out of the pit. But before he could return to get Joseph out of the pit, his brothers had already sold him to some traders who were passing by. And they took him off to Egypt, where he was sold as a slave.
And they took his special coat and they covered it with an animal’s blood and took it back to their father and said your son has been injured. That made him very sad. Joseph ended up working for a man called Potiphar. And in our bible verse today we learned that Potiphar was a very prosperous Egyptian.
