To disciple others means to first allow God's word to be the foundation, in my own life, upon which everything else is built, whether relational or otherwise thus making His Word my final authority.
The nature of any edifice to be built is determined by its foundation. Jesus puts it like this, "24..whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
To disciple others, I must be willing to learn and be taught, for a true disciple is indeed a learner!
CONFESSION - I will attend to Your Words, incline my ears to Your sayings O God; I will not let them depart from my eyes and will observe to do what Your Word teaches.
